Only in December 2010 gambling revenue increased 66.4 percent, based on the information released by the Macao Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. Good results are expected to continue in 2011.

Aaron Fischer, CLSA’s head of Asian gaming research, said that it’s hard to sustain that level of growth considering the absolute level of the market, which is massive. According to Fischer gambling revenue for casinos in Macao will probably grow 20% in 2011 and 25% in 2012.

Macao has its own The Strip called Cotai Strip with dozens of deluxe hotel casinos that resemble those of Las Vegas. These casinos welcome visitors from all over the world, and particularly from China, with comfortable environments and a wide selection of casino games. Two more casinos are expected to open in the next year and a half.

Las Vegas Sands and Wynn Resorts are the two international companies that operate casinos in Macao and they also own casinos in Las Vegas Local casino operators include Galaxy Entertainment Group and SJM Holdings, Melco Crown Entertainment and MGM Mirage.
